Alyssa and John’s mountain engagements were so fun! They are both attending school down in Utah, which is how they met. Now, they are busy planning and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in August! These two were so adorable for their engagement session. I traveled to Utah for this destination session in Provo Canyon. Since I traveled for this session, I had my son in tow! I don’t usually bring him with me on photoshoots, but every once in awhile he needs to tag along. We arrived a bit early and scoped out a few areas to use and found this awesome little spot off Squaw Peak Road. I love any chance I get to explore new locations and this Utah spot did not disappoint! We also took photos just down the road at the Timpanogos Park.
Ok, not the “how much can you stretch kind”, but the – “how set are your plans” way! Because the weather always seems to be a factor in photo shoots, it makes me so grateful when clients can be a little flexible with their plans. The rain sure gave us a run for our money! We decided to meet an hour earlier than scheduled, and I’m so glad we did. If we would have waited, the clouds would have completely encased the mountains, as it was the tops were already covered. Luckily, the rain stalled out for the majority of these springtime engagement pics!
The rain always makes colors so vibrant! This can sometimes be tricky because the lighting can cause color casts on skin which is not good. Thankfully, the colors that Alyssa and John wore were not overly bright, and completely complimented the space they were in. I also love when my ladies choose to wear a dress for their engagement session! I loved her classy dress and those flutter sleeves.
