The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Liz and Alex traveled from Ohio for an intimate elopement amid the Tetons. She found her stunning wedding dress for about $100 online! Liz’s wedding bouquet was created by The Faux Bouquets.
The bridal couple wanted to get a few detail shots of their special momentos and bridal prep before their first look. I love when we get to spend this time with the bride getting comfortable with them! Liz had her hair and makeup done by Tanya Crocker and I highly recommend her! They decided to have their first look in the bar at the resort where they were staying. I love how modern rustic the Snow King hotel’s dining area is! The lights made the ambiance absolutely perfect for their first look. Alex’s response to seeing Liz in her wedding dress for the first time is priceless. Wait until you see his reaction!
I love the alpine lakes that are in the Teton mountains! The water is so clear and calm and cold. It’s amazing to have these tall pine trees and boulders among soft shore sand. Liz and Alex originally wanted to wed at Schwabacher’s Landing, but there weren’t any wedding permits left for their preferred day. Leigh Lake was the second choice, but it ended up being one of the most beautiful intimate teton elopements I’ve ever photographed! We had a short 1/2 mile walk from the trailhead to the spot where they were married. The whole time we’re surrounded by these tall pines and then it just opens up onto the beach! Leigh Lake was absolutely perfect for their romantic ceremony.
Liz’s friend Lindsey officiated for them. I always love when couples have a good friend perform their marriage! The ceremony and vows are more personal to their lives and relationship. It’s also clear to see that Alex and Liz have a special connection. They were so talkative and fun, and not afraid to show off their personalities in their photos. The best part of the day was having a truly barefoot bride! Despite bringing along a pair of elegant wedding shoes, Liz ended up walking in her Chacos and being barefoot for her ceremony. Alex thinks the Chacos are ugly, but you can’t beat the comfort level!
To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, in Jesus sandals or in cowboy boots!
