Vicki and Dave are the sweetest couple in the world! I was so excited to photograph the wedding of these lovebirds in their seventies! Their Swan Valley wedding was an absolute dream to be at! Their love story is so fun- let me tell you about it! It seems that dating websites are typically used by younger people, but would you believe it if I told you that Vicki and Dave met online?
They were both on the same dating website and Vicki was feeling as if everybody was kind of strange. Her daughter logged on to Vicki’s profile and saw a message from a guy named Dave. Then she said, “Mom, I think that you should message him back. He looks normal and sounds normal from his message!” Although Vicki was not interested, her daughter just knew they would be a match. So she messaged him back and learned more about him to share with her mom. Long story short, within a couple weeks, Vicki and Dave were chatting and falling in love with each other. Their love story happened because Vicki’s daughter didn’t give up on her mom finding love again.
Vicki and Dave married on his property in August. Prior to their wedding in Swan Valley, I went out to visit his property in May and fell in love instantly with the place. Dave put in a giant fish pond with a beautiful deck in his front yard. While we were there he got out a bucket of fish food and let my son toss it into the water. It was a lot of fun seeing my son watch the fish go crazy.
Fast forward to their wedding ceremony in August. As soon as the officiant said “You may now kiss your bride”, one of Vicki’s grandsons started throwing fish food in the water. This made all the fish jump as Vicki and Dave shared their first kiss as husband and wife!
Vicki loves the color pink and it really showed throughout the whole wedding! She chose an absolutely stunning pink and gold creation for her wedding dress. Dave looked so handsome in his gray suit and pink tie. Kathi with Special Events Jackson Hole organized and coordinated the whole event and made the day go seamlessly. The wedding details featured beautiful flowers by JH Flower Boutique, a stunning cake from Tiny Town Culinary, and delicious food from Dining In Catering. No wedding is complete without an amazing DJ to get everybody on the dance floor, and Tyler Brooks with A&B Productions did just that with some really fun songs! Vicki and Dave chose three special songs to dance to during the night. The song they selected for their first dance was Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers. Dave dedicated Lady by Kenny Rogers to Vicki, and she dedicated Can’t Help Falling In Love by Haley Reinhart to Dave. It was the most romantic (and fun!) wedding reception!
