The evening that Jacob proposed to Shelby, we met up and photographed their engagements! They got all dressed up and met me inside Grand Teton National Park. Taggart Lake Trailhead is one of my favorite locations in the winter time. Mostly, because its one of the only ones that are still open in the park. But it also usually has an incredible view of the mountains. Because of the overcast and light snow, we didn’t have quite the same view. However, these two were willing to walk up the path all the way to where the trees at the base of the hills start. I love how the snow sticks to the tops of the tree branches and gives such a magical winter vibe.
I loved that these two choose to really dress up for their engagement session. Formal engagement sessions are perfect fit for this winter landscape. I was immediately in love with Shelby’s animal print coat. It looked so cozy and stylish. I’m a total sucker for animal print and paired with this beautiful fitted green dress, it was absolutely stunning. The combination of the plaid and animal print is not one I would normally think to do, but when paired with Jacob’s blazer, it was incredibly complementary. They also both wore cowboy boots, which was a great southern touch. I will definitely be using their winter engagements as future inspiration for my couples on what to wear!
Shelby’s ring was stunning! It deserved some beautiful details shots of its own. Jacob really did a wonderful job picking it out! I’ve been falling more in love with gold wedding ring settings over the years, and this ring was very elegant and classy.
