Photographing this gorgeous styled elopement at Fall Creek Falls was simply incredible. As a personal project, I wanted to create a video that helped show clients some behind the scenes on a shoot. The goal of this photoshoot was to display the experience my clients can expect to have on their wedding day! My friend, McKenzie, is a photographer and videographer I’ve been working with for years. She recently started offering video services and I knew she’d be perfect for this project! It was so much fun to work together on creating a behind the scenes video. The final video is featured on my website and on her Vimeo!
Because this photoshoot was taking place on the first day of Fall, I wanted to make sure we incorporated some pops of color. My favorite part of this bouquet was the pop of salmon, orange, and peach. I sent Joni at Plush Floral some inspiration photos and she took care of the rest! She is a master at combining color palettes and a variety of flower types into the most stunning arrangements. The bouquet brought a vibrant touch to the backdrop of Fall Creek Falls.
I was so excited when Rebekah and Joel agreed to model for this photoshoot. Earlier in the week, I had photographed their family photos! After their family photos, we had a wardrobe styling meeting for the photoshoot. Rebekah tried on dresses, and we went through Joel’s closet to pick the best options. We chose a gorgeous dress from Lulu’s with a long sleeve lace crop top. Because I photographed more elopements than ever in 2020, I wanted to embody that vibe for this video. We chose a dressy casual look for Joel with his tan pants and navy blazer. The day of the shoot, Rebekah had her hair and makeup styled by Trudi Day. Trudi is located in Idaho and we’ve worked together on several weddings and sessions in the last year!
Leading up to the shoot, I asked Burgundy Blooms to create a “We Eloped” design that could be reused for future events. I also used a gorgeous invitation suite that was created by Kristyn’s Craft Room. I photographed the detail shots after the shoot and disassembled the bouquet from Plush Floral to use as detail pieces.
Ideally I would have loved to do this video shoot in the Tetons. Logistics just didn’t work out for this session and that turned out for the best! While it’s not nestled in the Tetons, Fall Creek Falls is an incredible sight to see. This waterfall is at the heart of Swan Valley and is a semi popular attraction of the area. Summer and Fall are the best times to view Fall Creek Falls.
