I loved getting to know Tertia and Joe! Their love story is just so unique and really shows the beauty of friendship that turns into something more! These two met at a yoga class several years ago. Joe was participating for self-development while Tertia was participating as part of certifications for being a yoga instructor. They reconnected a few years later and met up for a cup of coffee. They really hit it off on, and Tertia described those moments as being very natural and fluid.
After a year and a half of dating they went for a snowshoeing hike in the Rocky mountains and he proposed to her there. The mountains have been such a big part of their love story, that getting married in Grand Teton national Park was a natural choice!
When Tertia and I talked about what she envisioned for their wedding day, she really just wanted to capture all the beautiful moments that they could. They figured that for they are going to elope, then they were going to go all out! They booked a gorgeous hotel, planned a beautiful ceremony, and booked a larger package that gave us time to visit so many incredible locations.
We walked into a beautiful lake side location in the Tetons where they exchanged their vows! They both wore beautiful headpieces created by Flowers by Chloe. Instead of having a wedding officiant in the Tetons, they shared personal vows and had their legal wedding ceremony take place in their home state. it was honestly incredibly difficult for me to choose which images to share because they had amazing wedding vendors and they’re just such attractive people! They had the best chemistry, the best bridal look, and the best energy for the day and they really just celebrated all day with us! And, they were all for climbing atop their Subaru for some epic wedding portraits in front of the Tetons!
At the end of the evening, we returned to their hotel, Amangani. They celebrated with champagne toasts on their balcony. Their hotel room was so cozy and elegant and had a beautiful fireplace. It also had floor to ceiling windows and sliding door that allowed in so much gorgeous light in. We were close to sunset so needed to move quickly. The lighting was perfect for pictures that were more intimate and moody. The best way to end the evening, Amangani Champagne toasts and cozy photos on the couch. I feel like this needs to be a thing for more elopements!
