Surprise Elopement Planned by Groom

This is probably one of the most romantic elopements I’ve ever had the pleasure of helping to plan! Robert messaged me about planning a surprise of proposal for his girlfriend. He planned to propose to her in a few months while on a trip in the Rocky Mountains. And when he did so, he wanted to also surprise her with wedding plans! He wanted to have the photographer, officiant, florist all booked and surprise her with a trip to Jackson Hole. Now you might be thinking, this is pretty risky business! But these two have a daughter together and have been together for almost a decade. So, marriage was the next step for them! She had mentioned how cool she thought it would be to get married on 10-15-20. And Robert made it happen!

I’ll also admit I was a little bit nervous because typically it’s the brides who are contacting me.  I wanted to make sure that she would be really happy with myself a photography as well. Luckily, she said Robert knocked out of the park with all of the planning and it was the perfect day!

Gorgeous Locations in Grand Teton National Park

Once we got about 1 month out from their wedding date, I started messaging with Anna more and finalizing details with her. They wanted to be able to check out some locations before they settled on set locations. I gave them some ideas and then from there we decided on the final locations 3 days before their wedding. They choose to have their ceremony at Schwabacher’s Landing, do photos at Moulton Barn, and finish with sunset bridals at Jenny Lake. 

Hamish Tear was their wedding officiant, he always does such a great job during ceremonies. We even had a surprise guest, a moose, who was hanging out across the water. You better believe I kept my eye on him the entire ceremony making sure he was not moving towards us! We had three hours with the bride and groom and were able to sneak in three different locations. I have to say that sunset at the lake with the mountains in the background are some of my favorite Fall pictures I’ve taken in the park!

When Someday Comes

These two love birds looked absolutely incredible on their wedding day.  Anna is a hair stylist and all of her hair is real! The amount of patience it would take me to grow my hair that long without cutting it off would be more than I’m capable of! But hair styling is actually how Anna and Robert met. When she switched salons, he had to track her down because he didn’t want to lose her as a stylist. And, he was hoping to ask her out someday. Well, that someday came! And, now they have the beautiful family, celebrated a gorgeous wedding day, and get to look forward to forever.
