The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Veronica and Michael were married in a beautiful ceremony at Pine Hill Event Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In their wedding planning session, we decided to do a separate bride and groom photography session off site. Their formal session took place on another day, following the wedding. I love it when couples choose to do this because it allows them to soak in all the feels of their wedding day and spend time with their guests. It then allows us to incorporate a different location into their wedding pictures. Idaho has a vast array of options for scenic wedding photography and we choose Swan Valley for their backdrop.
We still took a couple portraits on their wedding day on site at Pine Hill Event Center. Because these two have a family together, we spent the majority of the formal portrait time documenting them with their children! Then, two weeks after their wedding, we went to Fall Creek Falls in Swan Valley, Idaho. Here we photographed their individual couple portraits! This location is absolutely gorgeous in the late summer time as the waterfall is still nice and full and there’s plenty of lush greenery. You also don’t deal with as much mud as the earlier summer months. You do need to be prepared with bug spray though!
This waterfall is a hidden gem in Swan Valley, Idaho. It is located just off the main highway that runs through the valley. That highway connects Idaho Falls and the Palisade Reservoir. The Palisades are a destination location for hunters, boaters, hikers, other outdoor enthusiasts! Fall Creek Falls is an exceptionally beautiful waterfall. This is one of my favorite locations within an hour from Rexburg, Idaho to do couple portraits. I do not recommend it for young families due to the nature of the cliffs around the waterfalls. But for adventurous couples it is perfection. Down the road from the waterfalls is also this beautiful little valley and dirt road. It’s such a fun location for more wide open mountain shots.
