The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Two days before their wedding, I met up with Will and Catherine to photograph engagements for them! Their wedding got postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and so they got married this year instead of in 2020! Last year, I met up with them to talk over wedding details and all that good stuff but with the postponement, it’s been over a year since I’ve seen them last! Their Schwabacher’s Landing engagements had the perfect lighting and weather for us!
If you’re planning a destination wedding in Jackson Hole, I highly recommend you plan engagements with your photographer! This will help you get familiar with each other and make sure that you work well together. Sometimes, its just nice to know each other, on more than just a phone call! We know that this is not always possible, and we are very experienced in working with couples who we only see one time! But, if you have the opportunity and can make it work with your schedule, do it!
Its a good warm up for me and for my wedding couples to do engagement photos. It helps the couple get loosened up and relaxed. As well as knowing what to expect from me on their wedding day in terms of posing and direction. This also let’s me know which poses might work best for them on during their formal portrait time. Traditional wedding days were pretty strapped for time, and sometimes we only get 20 minutes to photograph the wedding couple. So having this time prior to their wedding day is really valuable so we can use that time wisely.
They both really like Formula 1 racing and so they decided that for some of their engagement photos they were going to wear the t-shirts of one of their favorite racers, Ricardo. After doing photos at the upper landing for a while, Catherine changed her shirt into something a little bit more dressy casual. Will forgot his second outfit but that is just fine because his shirt looked good with hers anyways! Catherine is always having Will take photos of her doing handstands, so we had to grab a photo of that!
Having to already make so many choices regarding the postponement of their wedding, they left the location up to me. Knowing the angle of the mountains we would have at their wedding venue, Diamond Cross Ranch, I picked a location with a different view. I chose to photograph them at Schwabacher’s Landing for their engagements. It probably comes as no surprise that I LOVE Schwabacher’s Landing for all types of sessions. I’ve photographed multiple weddings, elopements, engagement sessions, families, and portraits here. Come see it for yourself, and bring me along!
