Kalvin and Madi are the sweetest, newly engaged couple! They had the most beautiful sunrise Schwabacher’s Landing proposal.
They traveled from Michigan to Jackson Hole on a trip together in July. I have been talking to Kalvin for several months planning the perfect proposal. After looking at location ideas and deciding on timing, we had the most beautiful morning in the park! I arrived at Schwabacher’s Landing for the proposal before dawn. When we arrived, the parking lot was already packed, and there were several people on the trail waiting for some epic sunrise photos. Because of the smoke and the crazy weather that we’ve had the last few weeks, we didn’t really get any sunrise colors happening on the mountain peaks.
Ryan and I milled around and just acted like tourists waiting for the unsuspecting Madi to get proposed to! Kalvin and I had chosen the exact spot at Schwabacher’s and talked about how he would propose. So, when they arrived he pulled her in front of him and had her look out at the mountains. She turned around as he was fiddling with his pocket so he pulled out his phone instead. Then had her do it again. This time was successful as he got down on one knee behind her and pulled out a ring box. It was so nerve-wracking! He was nervous and she kept wanting to like go do something else while he was trying to set up this moment! It was just pretty funny!
But when the moment finally came, she said a heartfelt and joyful “YES!” to his proposal!
Afterwards, she went and changed into a different outfit and we spent some time at Lower Schwabacher’s Landing in Grand Teton National Park taking engagement photos. No matter how a couple is dressed, I always like to take some time after proposal to capture some more “formal” engagement photos. These are always fun for them to be able to share with their friends and family! I am so thrilled for these two and can’t wait to hear all about their wedding plans for 2022!
