The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Susie and Dan had such a beautiful wedding at Grand Targhee Resort in Alta, Wyoming. Several years ago, I photographed my first elopement at Grand Targhee. We were not told how early the lift closes and we missed being able to take photos at the top. I knew we didn’t want to make that same mistake with this wedding! Susie built in plenty of time on their wedding day to make it up and back down on the lift. They literally had photos on top of the world! (Alexa, play “Imagine Dragons Top of the World“).
Susie and Dan’s wedding was postponed due to Covid restrictions in 2020. Luckily, they were able to celebrate with their friends and family this year! Oh boy, did they make up for all that lost time! They had a huge bridal party that included so many of their closest friends. The vibe and energy of the whole day was just amazing, and you could tell how excited people were for them to be there and to celebrate with them.
Almost 40 years ago, Susie’s parents were married by her grandmother. Following that tradition, Susie and Dan were also married by her grandmother! She was the cutest little old lady and gave a beautiful wedding ceremony for these two. Susie and Dan also shared their own personal wedding vows, and lots of laughs.
Following their wedding ceremony the bridal party and family went up the lift to the summit. This resulted in some of the most epic wedding photos I’ve ever taken! If you want wedding photos on the top of the world, you simply must get married at Grand Targhee Resort! The Grand Targhee Resort summit has an amazing view of the Grand Tetons. Most people think that you have to go to Jackson Hole to see the Tetons, but this side of the Tetons are just as amazing, and a little bit less crowded.
The toast portion of their wedding day was hilarious! Susie’s dad surprised them both with hilarious gifts. Dan had tried talking Susie into letting him have a donkey at the wedding. Well that didn’t go well, but Susie’s dad gave him a stuffed donkey during the wedding toast. Susie also has an obsession with gnomes and so he gave her a little gnome decorative metal cut out. He got Susie’s sports team friends to stand up and participate in their cheer. Her sister also had some gals from camp get up and do their camp cheer!
When I say that their wedding was a party I mean it was a party! With A&B Productions as their DJ, everybody was hitting the dance floor and ready to move it! There was no shortage of things to photograph on Susie and Dan’s wedding day!
