This Mormon Row proposal went off without a hitch and could not have been more perfect! While visiting the beautiful mountains of Jackson Hole, Brice knew he wanted to ‘pop the question’ to his girlfriend Morgan. After nearly 4 years together, plus a friendship that started in high school, they were both ready for the next step. Morgan knew it would happen someday, but she had no idea that it would happen on their tour of Grand Teton National Park.

Proposal Planning

Are you planning the perfect proposal? There are a few things to consider! First, he asked for her parents blessing in preparation for the trip! Then he went with a friend to pick out a gorgeous rectangle solitaire set in gold. With family and friends in on the secret, Brice knew keeping it a surprise might be tricky. But, they were all awesome at keeping their lips sealed, making this the best surprise ever! Next, he asked me to be in on the surprise and document the proposal for them. When all of those things were put into place, he proposed at Mormon Row!

Choosing the perfect location

When couples book a session or wedding with me, I send a PDF with my favorite locations for them to look over. That way, even if they’ve never visited the area, they can familiarize themselves with some epic locations. This helps us both be on the same page while choosing a location for photos. Brice loved the view of the mountains at Mormon Row and knew that Morgan would love the tall grasses in the area too.

Mormon Row Proposal 

The morning of the proposal, my family hung out at Mormon Row, took a few photos, and did our best to look like tourists. Brice had told me to stand where I thought the angle was best and he’d make sure they were in that zone. Right as they were walking up, a whole crowd of people left and we literally had the barn and mountains all to ourselves for the proposal! We made eye contact and a little nod to each other. Then, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She was so surprised and happy! He was glad it was no longer a secret and could breathe for the first time all week. Proposals take guts, even when you know the answer will be a big ol’ “YES!”
