Justin contacted me just a few days before his trip to Jackson Hole. We planned for engagements at Schwabacher’s Landing. He had a photographer lined up for an engagement session in the Tetons, but due to some health issues his photographer was no longer available. He needed to find somebody else, and I was able to accommodate his schedule.

Delta Lake Proposal

Justin planned to propose to his girlfriend Marisa while hiking Delta Lake. This is a hike that I am dying to do some day.  I’m still not quite in a good enough shape so I might actually just die if I try it lol. They traveled with her sister and her sister’s husband, so we also sneaked a few photos of them. Because they had hiked this 8-mile strenuous hike in the Tetons earlier that day, they were both so sore! This was both hilarious for photos and also probably totally exhausting for them. Justin and Marisa have really enjoyed getting to explore national parks together and so I think it was totally fitting that this was how they celebrated their engagement.

Engagements at Schwabacher’s Landing

We took their photos at one of my favorite locations. It should come to no surprise to anybody who actively follows my blog, that would be Schwabacher’s Landing! One of the things that I like about Schwabacher’s Landing is that it has a short trail. So, the people who are coming to Schwabacher’s Landing are there to see the scenery, maybe see a moose, take some beautiful photos, and then they move on to the next spot.

Even though Schwabacher’s Landing can get crowded at times, there is a lot of freedom in being able to move around. It’s easy to find a location that doesn’t have a lot of traffic. And if we need to wait for a location to be available, there are more places to take pictures at! This was the emptiest I’ve seen it all season long, probably thanks to fall getting in the air, people being busy with harvest, and school starting up again.
