The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
As a Jackson Hole elopement photographer, I’ve been so blessed to work with some of the greatest and most creative clients. Throughout the years, I’ve seen some incredible wedding details, and the planning process is immense, but so worth it in the end. When you’re planning your big day, think about your sign in book, and how to make it something you’ll actually spend time reflecting on. Throughout your life, it may become something that just gets tucked away, make it something you’ll love on for years!
Planning any big event like a wedding takes a lot of time and effort, but it’s all worth it. The little details that make it all come together, like a sign in book are the fun parts. As a Jackson Hole wedding photographer I have seen some incredible ideas, and I’m going to share some inspiration!
Have a water color painting of a location or even your venue that guests can sign. It’s a fun way to incorporate your wedding venue into your day, and create memories to look back on for years. I have always loved the idea of artwork for your sign in book. Your guests will be sure to talk about the beautiful painting and unique sign in book long after your big day is over.
Another wedding I recently photographed had an incredible interactive guest book idea. They had all of their guests pour a tube of paint onto a canvas like their signature. Later after all the guests had done their portion of the canvas, the bride and groom poured theirs together. It was a beautiful way to end the night working together and creating something beautiful with friends and family alike.
Consider choosing colors that match your future home’s color scheme or your wedding colors. Then, you’ll be able to hang this piece of art in your home as a way to remember your big day!
Are you and your partner big fans of playing games? Then this sign in book idea is just for you! One of my favorite guest book ideas includes using game pieces from Jenga, and having your friends and family sign those. Having your guests sign something you’ll use is a unique way to actually use the sign in book in the future. Consider using other games as a sign in book option, your wedding day should be about your relationship and the details of your relationship. Show your guests what the two of you do for fun, whether that’s playing games, or painting together. Your day is about you!
A framed wedding picture or engagement picture is always a great alternative to a traditional guest book! It’s something you can decorate your new home with together, and a fun way to reminisce on your wedding day frequently. Pick a picture you both really like and get it framed in a bigger frame to allow for your guests to sign and share the love!
When it’s not broken, don’t fix it! There’s nothing wrong with keeping a traditional guest book if it’s something you love. I’ve had many clients opt for a more traditional approach adding photos from their relationship throughout the book. It’s a great way to personalize the book and make it more about your relationship! Adding pictures throughout will encourage you both to reflect on it for years to come.
Being a photographer, the polaroid book is my favorite of all! Throughout your reception, allow your guests to take pictures of one another and leave a message below with well wishes and congratulations. Years from now it’ll be a great way to remember those people that were at your wedding and what they looked like at the event. Nevertheless, over time people drift apart, and having pictures of them will be a special way to remember them.
