Between two trips to Disneyland, we’ve come up with our favorite rides and activities. Some are just mind-blowing fantastic, while others are the perfect roller coaster, and others still a laid back experience.
Rise of the Resistance is at the top of our list for favorite Disneyland rides! It opened shortly after we had our first trip in 2019, so even though it’s been open for 2 years, this was our first time on it. We were absolutely blown away with the detail and thought put into this ride. It’s really more than a ride, it’s a full experience that any Star Wars fan will be talking about forever! This is a family favorite for kids and adults alike. Because of the virtual queues, this was an incredibly difficult ride to get on. The two times we made it on, it was nearing the end of the night. Get on the virtual queues early.
This year we splurged and Ryan made a custom lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop. It was worth every single penny. At the beginning of the experience, they have you choose a theme for your lightsaber. This theme is the basis for what your item options will look like. Once you enter Savi’s Workshop, a Disney worker walks you through creating your custom lightsaber. At the end, everyone lights up their sabers at the same time. It’s really an experience unlike any other.
We love Star Wars Land so much and spent a large majority of our time there over the course of our 3 days at Disneyland. Smugglers Run is a short, interactive ride on the Millenium Falcon. When we visited for the first time, Smuggler’s Run was the only ride available. I can’t wait to see how Star Wars Land grows and what rides and experiences they add!
This is also a brand new ride to us and was by far, our kiddo’s favorite. He loves everything Spiderman, and getting to help him defeat the robotic spider-lings was an amazing experience for him.
Our guy loves carousel rides. King Arthur’s Carousel is the perfect low key ride for when you need a break from all the loud, jerky rides.
Mater’s Roundup is a perfect ride for the littles.
The perfect in between roller coaster for young families. LOUD, so bring some ear plugs.
This one is just all out fun. Relive the movie “Cars” while racing in a 6 seater vehicle.
A favorite for the littles who are obsessed with Toy Story characters. Help Buzz Lightyear fight the Zurg.
This was a new one for our family this go around and quickly became a favorite of the day!
We only got to ride this as adults and had to take turns since our kids isn’t tall enough to ride it. This is my favorite ride in CA.
This is a fun family ride that can be a bit scary. Perfect for The Nightmare Before Christmas fans. Halloween is the best time of year for this ride!
This was also a new ride for us to experience and it was amazing! I was really hoping we could get our boy to go on it, but he was too chicken. I don’t think he would have liked it but I hope he will in the next year or two!
Soarin’ Around the World was an all time favorite two years ago, and was great this year too. It’s relaxing, fun, and a crowd pleaser.
Our first time riding this was too much fun! This is more of an experience than a ride, getting to play a carnival style game!
This was a relaxed walk through experience, with no line!
