Angelina and Fidel were married in an intimate destination Jackson Hole wedding in the Fall of 2020. They dreamed of being able to celebrate with their extended family and friends in a San Diego Wedding. In the Fall of 2021, they were able to host a beautiful reception at the Catalina Room at Marina Village. I am so glad they asked me to travel for their destination wedding reception in California. Being their Southern California Wedding Photographer was such a joy! Our family enjoys visiting friends in the San Diego area each year, so it worked out perfectly. We made a family trip out of it and went to Disneyland, as well as photographing another wedding celebration.

San Diego Wedding

Before their wedding reception, we met at the Bahia Resort for a few getting ready photos and a lot of family photos. Because of the limited guests allowed at their Jackson Hole wedding, they wanted to have photos with all of their family here. This would be a beautiful place to hold a wedding as well. It has a beautiful garden area with tons of greenery, a water feature, and trees. After their family photos, we headed to their San Diego wedding reception where they had a grand entrance. From their entrance they went right into their “first dance”. They did a bouquet toss, garter throw, cake cutting, and shots with their friends.

The Catalina Room at Marina Village

These two are party people! Surrounded by family and friends, it was the best dance party I’ve ever seen. As a surprise for the groom, the bride had booked a custom cigar bar. So everyone could try out different tobacco in hand rolled cigars. Between dancing, people wandered out near the marina to smoke a cigar. We stayed well into the evening and even made it out onto the dance floor a time or two.
