Seasons are changing, and that means we get to be outside and soak up some sun! My family and I love to be outdoors, and living so close to Jackson Hole we’re there all the time. Jackson Hole is beautiful year round, but something about the summer just makes it that much better. Being a Jackson Hole elopement photographer, I’m in the area all the time, and love being able to recommend some fun for my couples, especially when they’re visiting from out of town. Here’s my list of top fun summer outdoor activities in Jackson Hole!
Whether you’re exploring Grand Teton National Park or other beautiful spots in Jackson Hole, going for a hike is one of my favorite things to do when it starts to warm up. This area is one of the most beautiful places on earth, so if you’re lucky enough to be here during the summer, make sure you add a hike to your list! Not only are the views great, but you’ll be able to get outdoors and experience the perfect weather. One of my favorite hikes is around Jenny Lake, it’s a popular spot for engagements and proposals alike, with crystal clear waters, and luscious trees it’s absolutely breathtaking!
If hiking isn’t your thing, but you still want to experience the views, consider this outdoor activity in Jackson Hole! Mountain biking is such a great way to get some exercise while making memories with the people you love most. Book your vacation with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and Grand Targhee – they offer lift-accessed mountain biking all summer. There are trails for all levels of bikers, and a great way to spend your afternoon!
Just a short 90 mile drive, add checking out another beautiful national park to your outdoor activities in Jackson Hole list! Yellowstone is known for its beautiful wild animals, geyers, hot springs and so much more. Spend a day in the park, taking in the beauty on a hike, go rafting or paddling, or even camp in the park!
Another place, near and dear to my heart being a Jackson Hole local, Grand Teton National Park. It’s always on our list for outdoor activities in Jackson Hole, and as a family we spend lots of time in the park. Between hikes, camping and even setting up our hammocks for a slow afternoon, it’s worth the trip!
Maybe outdoor activities aren’t your thing, consider just going for a drive one afternoon! Take it slow, and enjoy the beauty in our area. A few of our favorite drives are Jenny Lake, Teton Pass, and Snake River Canyon! Grab some snacks in town and take your family sight seeing and pull over for a picnic.
Memorialize your family vacation with a photography session! Capture the beautiful views of Jackson Hole, and Grand Teton National Park to remember for years to come. As a Jackson Hole elopement photographer, I work with loads of visitors and I can’t recommend booking a session enough! It’s a great way to round out your vacation and see some secret spots that only locals know about. Don’t worry, I’ll share my spots with ya!
No matter what you decide to do, visiting Jackson Hole will be something you won’t regret doing! Whether you come in the winter, spring, or my favorite time, summer, Jackson Hole won’t disappoint.
