For the bride who is very close to their bridesmaids, this is a fun way to show the love and friendship you share. This is also a favorite of mine to do for the bride with her female relatives – mom, sisters, aunts, and cousins.
Having your bridesmaids assist you with your train is a unique way to show how supportive they are of you. And bonus, it will keep your dress out of the dirt.
Of course, we have to include the classic bridesmaid poses that showcase your beautiful faces, dresses, and flowers. Just remember to keep your bouquet low. My rule of thumb is to rest your elbows on your hips and hold your hands just under your belly button. This allows the bodice details of your dress to show. But more importantly, means you won’t be covering your face with flowers. If you don’t have bouquets, I suggest connecting arms or hands somehow.
Have your bridesmaids all lift you up and support you, quite literally? Only if you think they can! And well, if you aren’t worried about dress seams ripping or anything. This is sure to include lots of laughter in the process as well!
This is especially fun if you plan to do a first look with your bridesmaids! And if you are, this takes place pretty naturally. But even if you don’t, let the girls soak in that wedding dress in all it’s glory as they admire you!
Having the bride and bridesmaids walk together is a great way to get everyone relaxed and loose. It allows your natural smiles to come through.
Achieving this pose is easy. Have the group line up facing away from the camera and towards the vista. Put the bride right in the middle, and have her half turned to the camera. Have everyone give a squeeze and lean. This is a fun way to show the details on the backs of bridesmaid dresses, their hair styles, and bouquets.
“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, and you will with this pose! When there is a vast landscape to work with, and a large bridal party – this bridesmaid pose is a treat.
There aren’t always great props to use to have everyone seated. But, when it does work out it’s a fun addition to the more popular poses. This bride and her bridesmaids got ready in a small bride’s room at the wedding venue. Using the loveseat and full length mirror gave this photo a very timeless and elegant look.
Including individual bridesmaid portraits is a great way to show the appreciation you have for your most special ladies! They will get a professional photo of themselves in a beautiful place. And you will have a photo of them to use when you want to shout out how much you love them on a special occasion.
