Visiting Grand Teton National Park can be a once in a lifetime opportunity for many people. So, when you’re traveling to a new destination with the love of your life, you make the most of it! Angela & Andrew’s Foggy Mormon Row Proposal came after a long weekend of work. They traveled from Texas to help set up and take down wedding decorations. Andrew’s family member is a wedding planner and he created multiple backdrop and installation pieces for a Jackson Hole Wedding. He knew it would be the perfect place to pop the question and asked me to be their Jackson Hole proposal photographer.
On the morning of our couples photoshoot, I drove through the valley in the thick of fog. This kind of weather is not ideal for viewing the Tetons, and sadly the clouds and fog didn’t dissipate before our scheduled time. Since they had a plane to catch later that day, we went ahead as planned. Even though they had a Foggy Mormon Row Proposal, it was so magical! These two are made for each other, and it was so evident in everything they did. The proposal wasn’t a total surprise. They had been saving up for a custom ring design that they picked out together. So while Angela knew it was definitely coming, the unknown was in the “when”. The ring and box were both incredible and well worth the wait!
Proposals are pretty short and sweet, and we spend the remaining session time capturing photos of you together. Because we weren’t able to see the Teton mountains through the thick fog, we opted to do most of the photos where some of the trees could be visible in the background. This way, the couple didn’t just have gray sky behind them. One of my favorite things about this foggy Mormon Row proposal is the golden fields that surrounded the barns. In the late summer and early fall, these grasses turn shades. If you want engagement photos in a golden field, then Mormon Row in the fall is one of your best bets around Jackson Hole.
