We’ve rounded up some Father Daughter Wedding Moments we love to see. First Looks and First Dances are some of our favorite parts of a wedding day to witness. But there are even more moments that happen during your wedding we don’t want you to forget!
Dads checking in with the Bride during Getting Ready Moments is one of the sweetest things you’ll see. It’s not often that a father or step father has the time or ability to see the bride before it’s time to walk her down the aisle. They are sometimes working with vendors to finalize set ups, or gathering all of the bridal party. That this bride’s stepfather took the time to come give her a kiss and put on her bracelet is even more heartfelt considering the loss of her father just months earlier. Another bride’s dad helped her place her veil before she walked down the aisle.
First looks have gained popularity between brides and grooms. But why not with your dad? If he’ll be walking you down the aisle on your wedding day, this moment happens quite naturally. Right before the ceremony, you will connect with him and be directed by your wedding planner. However, why not give yourself a few extra minutes to make this moment just a little extra special. This is a big moment for both of you!
Wedding days are full of all the feelings you can imagine. This bride had a very sentimental gift for her father before the ceremony. As a surprise, she had a pendant made with her grandfather’s portrait. She shared it with her father before the ceremony and pinned it to her bouquet.
You may not have your father standing by your side on your wedding day. Including him in your wedding day is still a possibility. Our brides have chosen to include their dads in many ways, but bouquet ornaments are one of the most popular ones. They may be glass memorial pendants, or small framed photos, or something totally unique. Some couples like to have a memory table for all of their loved ones. It’s your special day and it’s up to you how you’d like to honor your late father.
We love the moment that the bride and her father walk down the aisle! Their faces are always full of joy and excitement, and maybe some nerves. It’s the last little moment that a father and daughter spend together before she is a married woman. I love the hugs that happen at the end of the aisle and all the emotion that is evident.
These are some of the last moments of the wedding day, but so powerful. As a father and daughter share a dance on her wedding day, it gives them each moments to reflect on the relationship they have. In a time where some traditions are fading, this is one tradition I absolutely love having stick around for micro-weddings.
I always want to make sure we grab a traditional, or more formal photo of dad and daughter on the wedding day. I think it’s so special to have these photos as life changes happen. So, let’s take a photo of the two of you looking straight at the camera and smiling, and then the rest happens naturally.
