Nichole booked me for a photoshoot in the Tetons with her boyfriend Chris. They had a big trip planned to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and wanted to have photos while out west. Well, Chris decided to take it another step! He privately proposed to her a few days before our photoshoot so we go to take engagement photos instead!
We opted for a sunrise session due to our tight schedules, and it was the perfect morning. I have never photographed Mormon Row Sunrise Engagements before, but it was so worth it! Mornings in the mountains are still pretty chilly, and can be 50+ degrees cooler than the temperatures we experience in the heat of the day.
I also got to experience a Bison Jam on my way from my campsite to Mormon Row. I’ve only seen them one other time down in that area, but have seen signs of them bedding down during the fall. I was worried we would have to go completely around them and be 30 minutes late to my session, but some other cars passed me and the bison gave a wider berth on the road so I sneaked through. You never know what wild animals are going to do!
Because it was labor day weekend, the areas were busier than I’ve ever experienced in the park, especially at sunrise. We had the cutest older ladies oohing and ahhing over them as we worked through poses, and they said multiple times “oh, that’s so cute”, and “oh my goodness that looks so good”. It was adorable and I loved it.
I loved their engagement outfits! It was the perfect mix of patterns, textures, and color choices. They used the dark green on his shirt to complement the dark green leaves of the flowers on her dress. This is one of my favorite ways to create complimentary outfits without being matchy matchy. They looked so nice and put together.
Thank your Nichole & Chris for the honor of photographing your Mormon Row sunrise engagements! Are you interested in booking an engagement session in the Tetons? Contact me for availability!
