Are you craving the kind of wedding ceremony that’s an intimate affair with the beauty of the outdoors? If so, eloping in Jackson Hole, Wyoming might be the perfect fit. With a range of romantic options and breathtaking views, getting married in Jackson Hole is an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime. Read on to learn more about where to elope in Jackson Hole and make your dream wedding come true.
Dreaming of getting married in the stunningly picturesque Grand Teton National Park? We offer Grand Teton National Park elopement packages for couples! You’ll need to apply for a $200 permit to hold your ceremony within the park boundaries. The park offers six reserved site specific locations to choose from for your elopement. The locations are great for any wedding party with less than 25 guests, though some locations allow for 40.
We’ve done the work for you and break down the pros and cons of each of those sites in our GTNP Ceremony Permits post. If you’re looking for a more intimate experience, there are locations available for parties with less than 12 total people. You’ll want to ask your photographer for recommendations on these locations, as there are restrictions. The most up to date information, should be available on the park’s website.
It’s our opinion that you can’t go wrong in the Tetons, but we love to help you pick the location that will work best for your nuptials. And as far as best places to elope in Jackson Hole, the national park is at the top of our list.
Small wedding ceremonies held in Bridger-Teton National Forest do not require a permit. There are many secluded locations that are ideal for a private wedding ceremony in the beautiful outdoors. If you plan to have a ceremony with 75 or more guests, you will need a permit. And, it’s arguably not considered an elopement. There are some restrictions that the National Forest wants you to follow. First and foremost, remember that it is an outdoor area and you should leave it better than you found it. You will not damage the area you are using and will not block off the area from public access.
There is one exception that we are aware of for the free use of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and that is a ceremony at The Wedding Tree. Due to the increased popularity of The Wedding Tree, they made changes at the beginning of 2023. A $200 fee is now required to use the location for your wedding ceremony. This money will go back into the development of the area’s amenities. Make sure to check the Forest Service page for the most up to date information about permits.
If you’re not sure that a national park or forest is the best option for your group, you may want to check out some of Jackson Hole’s Local Parks. Some may require a ceremony permit, depending on if they are city or county parks. Local parks can be a great option in the winter, when the national park and forest may be harder to access, or obtain a permit for.
If you’d like to have more seclusion and privacy for your elopement, look into renting a small venue. Some local bed and breakfasts like the Bentwood Inn, or hotels like Teton Mountain Lodge and Spa and Amangani have intimate ceremony offerings. Additionally, some Airbnb or private rentals will allow you to hold your ceremony at your lodging. In the cases I’ve witnessed, the guest list is restricted to those staying at the accommodations. This helps them to reduce liabilities. Be sure to check with your private lodging rental before hosting any events or parties.
