The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Holli & Casey’s Grand Teton Micro-Wedding was so special. They chose to have a small and intimate wedding in Tetons with only family in attendance. The thought of a big wedding became overwhelming to plan, which is totally understandable! If you’re considering whether to have a large wedding or a smaller micro-wedding or elopement, this might help you decide what is best for you! Either way, photographing weddings is my specialty and we’re ready to work with you on any event size.
First, we started with getting ready photos at a private home near the park boundary. This lodging option has one of the best views ever from a private dwelling. And the backyard was the perfect place to do first looks between Holly and her dad, and Holly and Casey. The bride gave a sweet embroidered handkerchief to her mother-in-law. The groom’s parents helped bin on the boutonniere. The beautiful florals were designed by Teton Valley Gardens. Lastly, we did a couple pictures with Holly and Casey and their daughter!
This couple were one of my few wedding groups who were able to secure a permit for Schwabacher’s Landing this year. Hallelujah! It was the only thing they for sure wanted on their wedding day, so thankfully it happened. They had a beautiful Schwabacher’s Landing wedding ceremony officiated by Pastor Ray. And, the mountains peeked out just enough!
After their ceremony and family photos, Holly and Casey and I went to one more location. Here they shared a first dance and read vows privately to one another. I really like the idea of reading your vows privately. If you have any kind of social anxiety around being put on the spot in front of family and friends are in your ceremony, or you simply just want to keep that part of your wedding day private and intimate. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sharing your vows during your wedding ceremony, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with choosing to do them privately without any guests around.
Bouquet and Boutonniere: Teton Valley Gardens
The whole day threatened rain and because of this, there were a few changes that we made. Instead of using Mormon Row for more photos, we chose to chase blue skies at the end of the night. I 100% think it was worth doing and I’m so glad that we did! And when else are you going to get an epic rainbow photo?! We know that things don’t always go exactly as hope for on your wedding day when it comes to weather and some other logistics, but sometimes the plan B ends up being the best option and memories!
