Keegan and Rachel had a private proposal in the Tetons and then we took their Jenny Lake engagement photos later in the day. Rachel knew it was happening during their vacation, but Keegan wanted the timing and moment to be just right so he opted not to have a proposal photographer. However, we did plan a photoshoot for engagements during one of the days of their trip, with plans for the proposal to happen before that date. It all worked out! My schedule that week was absolutely crazy and I wasn’t sure if I should really take on another session. But I’m so glad I did!
Jenny Lake is such a gorgeous location in the mountains and its picturesque anytime of the year. I had to schedule their engagement session before another session I had the same day, so we did a mid afternoon session with the newly engaged couple. We explored multiple locations together around the lake and settled on a few that soon became the favorite spots.
If you’re planning a proposal in Tetons, consider whether you’d like to include a photographer as part of your plans. I love helping you plan it! And if you’re not sure about hiring a photographer for the moment, that’s okay! You can opt to take engagement portraits later in the day or later during your trip. Some couples choose to do this so they can be dressed in nicer clothing than what they might be wearing for a casual hike or activity where the proposal is taking place.
