In the fall of 2022, I was able to be Cooper and Madison’s Jackson Hole Proposal Photographer! Just a few days before their trip, Cooper’s mom contacted me about photographing the special moment. They were traveling together for a trip but didn’t know how long certain sections of it would take, so it was pretty last minute! I’m so glad it worked out for me to capture this special time for them both.
I recommended the location of Cathedral Group Turnout for the proposal to take place. In the evenings this location tends to be fairly empty, with only the occasional visitor. Due to the lack of other tourists, it can feel like I’m being more obvious in a location like this. However, it amazes me how often it still comes as a surprise! The look on Madison’s face was perfection when Cooper got down on one knee to pop the question!
After taking a few additional photos at Cathedral Group Turnout, we headed to String Lake. We were hoping to escape some of the wind that had moved in, but unfortunately it was even worse by the lake. These two were willing to stick it out between 30 mph gusts and we did our best to work with the wind direction. To be honest, in most of them I don’t think you’d ever know how windy it was!
