The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Carlos and Anne had an intimate Grand Teton Winter Elopement this February. They had a private vow ceremony without any guests but the most essential ones. A few days later, we met up to take wedding portraits for them!
For their Grand Teton Winter Elopement portraits, the newlyweds wanted to take photos in a few different locations. Their first choice was Snake River Overlook. This is a beautiful spot in the winter time to have a ceremony or do pictures. It’s easy to access, and is one of the parking lots that gets plowed. We took our snowshoes and the boys played around while I stomped down a bit of walk way and some areas for my clients to stand.
Following their winter wedding portraits in the park, we all headed to Cache Creek Trailhead. This is a lovely location in the winter time where the hills are right behind you and the pines shoot up in abundance. This is a popular site for locals to walk their dogs, so that is something to be aware of if you plan to use this location. While at this location, they wanted some photos with their Jeep rental. They have a Jeep back home, so we had some fun with including those flash photos in their gallery.
Then we headed to downtown Jackson Hole for final portraits in front of the Elk Antler Arches. These Elk Antler Arches are pretty incredible, and have moose paddles with “Jackson Hole” hanging from the center of the arch. The town square is also surrounded by businesses, one of which is the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. The neon lights make for a stunning backdrop against the night sky.
When planning for your outdoor winter wedding, be prepared for anything! It’s always good to have backups for locations. If the weather is bad, some locations could be very difficult to access or the views might be underwhelming. It’s important to know there are no guarantees what weather will do and to go with the flow!
