Paige and Garrett were married in a beautiful outdoor Idaho Wedding ceremony last summer. They originally planned to get married in Grand Teton National Park. However, new limits on the number of ceremony guests allowed in locations changed, so their plans did too. After some discussion about options, they chose to get married on private property in Felt. They were all staying at the site anyways, so it was the perfect solution. It was beautiful! I’m so glad they found the best Idaho wedding photographer for their special day. We made everything run smoothly and it was the best day!
Before their wedding ceremony, Paige got ready in the main cabin house. She planned to do a first look with her bridesmaids and I’m so glad she did! There is a different level of fun that comes by seeing their excitement right before the ceremony. The bride and her dad then had a first look, followed by Paige and Garrett’s first look. Their ceremony was simple and beautiful. Afterwards, during the wedding party and family photos, we had a new experience. The groomsmen decided to do a groom toss, but kind of forgot about the catching part?! Luckily, Garrett’s brother in law had his back (quite literally), and saved the day. Their wedding helped me make sure I give even better directions for the groomsmen to remember and CATCH the groom.
Wildflower season was in full swing for this beautiful outdoor Idaho Wedding and I was THERE for it! I loved capturing the bride and groom’s wedding portraits among the vibrant wildflowers. Because we also had a moody sky, it made it all the colors pop even more. Highly recommend a late June wedding if you want wildflowers to be part of your big day!
A few weeks before their wedding day, my family and I traveled up to the ceremony site. If I haven’t been somewhere before, I like to scout out the area. My family and I then scouted out areas around Mesa Falls too. I knew there were trails that would be stunning in the summer. Knowing that weather could be a factor (when isn’t it?), we made a tentative schedule. There were a few times rain was threatening, but in all we were able to have a pretty dry day for their celebration.
I love working in the Tetons, but it’s also so much fun to shoot a little closer to home and explore new places. During our exploration, we found a beautiful trail that followed along a canyon and river. I knew this would be one of our top choices for shooting locations and couldn’t wait to share ideas with my couple!
