Doni and Zack had a beautiful October wedding last year and I was lucky enough to be their Jackson Hole Elopement Photographer! Despite an intimate guest list for the ceremony, their day was nothing less than a full celebration of the love they share. With a full day of wedding coverage, I documented bride and groom getting ready photos, a first look, Ketubah signing and songs, ceremony with family photos, couple portraits, dinner and dancing. It was a day that felt classic and timeless with all the right personal touches.
The couple prepared for their wedding ceremony at Hotel Jackson. We took photos on the balcony of Zack’s doggy cufflinks, then moved inside for a few classic portraits. Doni was surrounded by her ladies during her hair and makeup with La Bella Rose Beauty & Co by Trudi Day. She had an amazing robe that belonged to her Grandma, and had made a personalized gift basket for each attendee (including me!) Her wedding dress was one of the first I’ve seen that had removeable sleeves. For the ceremony, she wanted a more demure look, but she also wanted additional flexibility for dancing during the after party. So, the shop where she got her dress, ILA Bridal Boutique, made detachable sleeves!
Doni & Zack had their First Look at the Elk Antler Arches in downtown Jackson Hole. The bride also had a little bit of a first look with dad, although it proved a bit trickier than expected keeping him from seeing her first look with the groom. The fall leaves in the town square were so vibrant and made a lovely backdrop with the elk antlers.
Following their first look, the wedding party all headed back to Hotel Jackson. Here, the wedding officiant (Judd Grossman) met with them and their families for the traditional Ketubah signing. This was my first Ketubah signing and it was so beautiful to witness them come together in song and prayer. This document will be framed and displayed in their home as a symbol of their marriage.
As your Jackson Hole elopement photographer, I will help guide you to a location that works best for your group size, timeline logistics, and preferences for backdrop views. Mountain View Turnout is one of the site specific ceremony permit locations and was a great fit for their wedding ceremony. Their parents held a chuppah overhead for them during the ceremony. They drank wine, exchanged vows and rings, were enveloped in the prayer shawl presented by her sister and brother in law, then broke the wedding glass (inside a bag). After their ceremony, they toasted with their personalized Yeti cups – each with the guests name on it. And, had their first dance! Group photos followed, then the guests headed out while we finished wedding portraits with the bride and groom at String Lake.
I have to do a quick shoutout to their florist, Semper Flora, who did an incredible job. The bouquet had a brightness to it with it’s classic whites, creams, and pinks. The usage of unique flora was inspiring also!
Dinner was in a semi-private room at Local, where the food was delicious. Several family members and the bride’s best friend shared toasts to the newlyweds. Doni and Zack cut their cake from Tiny Town Culinary. Then it was off to The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar for pictures and dancing. The night ended on a whirlwind!
