Grand Teton Fall Engagement Photos are full of beautiful color and light. Julia and Gibson wanted two very different locations for their engagement session. Both had stunning fall foliage making an appearance.

The first Jackson location we took engagement pictures at was Jenny Lake. In the fall, the lake has receded and we have more shoreline to work with. Their session was early September so we didn’t have quite as much fall color showing off, but the grasses and trees were starting to change. They chose earthly neutrals for their engagement outfits. She wore a strappy white dress and he wore a dark brown button down with khakis. Their outfit inspiration was effortless, comfortable, and still dressy.

Outfit Inspiration for Mountain Engagements

When you are planning want to wear to your engagement session, be sure to check with your photographer! Ask what the most prominent colors in the location will be and choose an outfit that will allow you to stand out from the background. In the Tetons, there is a lot of green and blue tones.

I generally recommend more neutral and warm colors. Some of my favorite outfits colors for Teton photos revolve around white, cream, light browns, light blues, pinks and purples, rust orange, and denim. Not necessarily pastels, but also nothing super vibrant. Color casting can happen with bright colors and cause your skin under your chin or on your face to look abnormal when wearing super bright, saturated, or neon colors.

Your final outfit choices should be informed by the location you are choosing, the time of year your photos will be taken, and what you are comfortable in. Set a theme for you as a couple or a family to follow. Pinterest has great outfits combination ideas to give you some inspiration!
