The Glacier View Turnout Wedding ceremony site has a beautiful view of the mountains. Located on the outer park road (aka a section of highways 89 / 191 /26 ), it has a fantastic view of the iconic Teton mountain range. Because of it’s outer park road location, it’s a little noisier and not as private as some of the other designated locations. However, it does allow up to 25 persons for your event! It’s a good option for larger elopement groups or smaller micro-weddings.
While the ceremony site itself doesn’t offer a lot of scenic variety, it’s close to other areas that have a little more visual interest. It’s set up on top of the hill so it looks down into a sagebrush valley before the Teton peaks pop up. Nearby are some other popular and iconic sites like the Mormon Row barns and Schwabacher Landing.
Before their Glacier View Turnout Wedding, I met with Sharon and David for some wedding portraits in other areas of the park. Our first stop was Mountain View Turnout, but just as we arrived another bus of wedding folks unloaded. They had a ceremony permit for that location so we quickly changed gears and headed down the road a few minutes to Cathedral Group Turnout. It’s so similar in looks and angles that most people can’t tell the difference in photos. As another plus, it’s often pretty quiet – especially in the evenings.
Next up was wedding portraits at Jenny Lake – a wonderful addition to their fall wedding. Jenny Lake is extremely popular because of all the trailheads and hikes that stem from it. In the evening it’s more calm and you get to enjoy the crisp fall air and colors. With their ceremony in the beginning of October, many of the leaves had already fallen but we were blessed to have some fall foliage still showing off.
Finally it was time to get them married! Her closest family including her parents and her daughter were able to witness the wedding. Their wedding officiant, Cindy, brought them little mini cupcakes to aid in the celebration!
The thing I love about the Tetons is that you really can’t go wrong. No matter where you decide to have photos taken or hold your ceremony, the beauty abounds. Contact me for availability and all the details regarding Jackson Hole Wedding Photography!
