The blog is a collection of destination wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Alexis and Anthony had a beautiful fall micro wedding and portraits at the Wedding Tree. Their morning ceremony included their closest family and friends as they said their vows in the mountains. I worked closely with Alexis on all the details to make their day come together. When their original ceremony permit at GTNP hopes were dashed, we quickly regrouped and made plans for a Wedding Tree ceremony instead. Plans were almost put on hold again when they had to deal with the aftermath of hurricane Helene. Luckily, they were able to still come and get married in Wyoming!
During the getting ready portion of their day, Alexis had hair and makeup done by Olga as part of Tanya Crocker’s collective. Then, she had all the ladies help her with her wedding dress, garter, and shoes. We took time to photograph her detailed wedding invitations, perfumes and cologne, jewelry, boots, and other accessories. She had special gifts for her mother and grandmother. Her dad had passed away years before, so she had a special trinket that was being pinned to her dress or bouquet with a photo of him. Before heading to the wedding site, the bride had a first look with her grandpa (cue the tears!).
Anthony had his best man standing up with him. Alexis had her sister and her best friend next to her. Her mother and grandfather walked her down the aisle, and her uncle officiated the ceremony. It was so lovely for them to have so much support from her family.
The wind was really having a field day with us during the ceremony and family photos, but we moved as quickly as we could through photos before they needed to leave on their next adventure! They planned an afternoon horse back riding session at Spring Creek Ranch for them and several of the interested guests. We split for the day and then met back up for an evening photoshoot in casual western wear, which I will share in another post!
While I generally recommend afternoon and evenings for elopements, weddings, and photo sessions, I’ve photographed events and sessions at all times of day! I photographed more morning and mid-day events in 2024 that ever in previous years and I’m starting to fall in love with the morning ones more and more. I actually prefer a morning time at The Wedding Tree over an evening time frame.
