The blog is a collection of destination wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
What do you do when the ceremony location you have a permit for isn’t quite what you were hoping for? For Connie and Stephen, it meant making a big change. They reached out to the GTNP office, secured a permit for a new location, but there was a catch — they couldn’t have a photographer present due to group size. Also due to group size, some family members stayed behind with the kids. The couple and family hiked into their new spot for an intimate ceremony.
Later in the day, I met up with them and their families for Jackson Family Wedding Portraits. Connie and Stephen wanted the focus to be on the group shots rather than the two of them. They’re not big fans of being in front of the camera, so this was the best compromise for them. While they knew the photos were important for their families, they weren’t the top priority for the couple — and that’s perfectly fine! The beauty of an elopement is the freedom to plan it in a way that suits you best, with plenty of room to adjust when things change.
If portrait time isn’t your thing, I totally understand. I offer short packages so couples can still get the key photos they want, and then move on with the rest of their day. Elopement packages start at just 2 hours, and we can adjust from there. Reach out to me today for more details and let’s plan those photos!
