Zoe and Sam hired me as their Grand Tetons Elopement Photographer last fall. We had a lovely time together celebrating with getting ready photos, a first look, and their mountainside ceremony. They traveled all the way from the United Kingdom to experience the Tetons and tie the knot in this magical place. And I feel like they got to see it at it’s best, during the heart of September.
This couple’s wedding day started with hair and makeup services for the bride with by Tanya Crocker’s collective. Zoe gathered up all of their special accessories for detail photos. Their vow books were hand pressed paper delicately bound by ribbon and a pale blue print. This beautiful dusty or pale blue was the theme of their wedding. The bride’s patterned dress, light blue shoes, bouquet, vow book details, and ring box all coordinated beautifully. The groom’s darker blue suit with bowtie added a depth to their color palette while remaining true to the vision. Sam also brought along his binoculars for a few “bird watching” photos. He enjoys wildlife photography as well so it was the perfect opportunity to showcase his hobbies!
The next stop on our Grand Tetons tour was String Lake. This location became an absolute favorite for the 2025 season. This year, for some reason, the railings of the bridge were cut off the top which allows for a side view of the Tetons and river that we just haven’t had before. Sam was totally surprised to see light blue florals on Zoe’s dress but it was the just the unique touch that made this wedding so special.
Finally time to tie the knot! Zoe and Sam hired Cindy Dahlin as their officiant. She comes as one of my highly recommended vendors. This time it was Sam’s turn to surprise Zoe while reading his vows. Instead of the curated vow book, he pulled out a card with a cat face printed on it. In true fashion, this special cat had to be part of their wedding day in some way! It brought out the most genuine laughs from each other too.
If you’re looking for an intimate space to hold a small elopement ceremony, I love the views at Cathedral Group Turnout. It has amazing 180 views and it’s generally really quiet and doesn’t have a lot of tourist traffic. The quiet is a huge plus for how busy the park can get in the summer and fall. It’s also one of the best locations to do road running photos due to the lower speed limit and open views.
Planning an elopement in the Tetons doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. If you want guidance from someone who knows the area and values doing things the right way, let’s connect and talk about your plans. Reach out about booking me as your Grand Tetons Elopement Photographer!
