John and Ali had a morning proposal at Jenny Lake in the Tetons. If you’ve never been to the Tetons before, Jenny Lake is a must see. It has a vast amount of trails leading from the main trailhead, making it a popular tourist destination. A short boat ride across the lake leads to Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, and trails into Cascade Canyon. There are also paved sidewalk areas that allow for a level of accessibility for those in wheelchairs, or who have trouble walking on uneven surfaces. Because of these amenities, visitors will want to arrive early to beat the crowds and the parking
John wanted to propose at Jenny Lake because of the amazing scenery. Teewinot Mountain at Jenny Lake seems to just pop up out of nowhere, and it’s quite a sight. This is a great place for a proposal if you are into hiking as well. Because of the trailheads available from the visitor center, it’s a very natural location you might visit on your trip anyways. This helps you keep the proposal a surprise right up until the moment. Then plans for a hike take a slight detour to getting engaged first!
While we definitely want to capture the moment of the proposal, we always want to get some pictures with that “newly engaged glow”. The sun was strong this morning and taking photos in the shade is easier on the eyes, but washes the mountains out more. We wandered around the lake to several different little locations for a mix of mountains, lake, and other scenery. Thank you John and Ali for letting me be part of this special moment!
