Springtime in the Tetons can be very unpredictable. We never know how quickly the snow will melt. After a rather wet winter with lots of snow pack, we weren’t too surprised to have spring engagements in the snow for Angelica and Scott even in the middle of May.
After rescheduling due to poor weather conditions, Angelica and Scott had a morning engagement session before leaving to go home. I’m so glad we were able to sneak in their session and move things around to make it happen! The day was much more beautiful than our originally planned day. They were so cute together and chose a very casual outfit for the photos inside the park. They wanted to show the more outdoorsy side of them and wore their hiking boots with jeans and long sleeve shirts for part one of their engagement session.
Morning Sessions offer a unique setting in the Tetons – the mountains are extremely well defined and you can see every nook and cranny of the peaks. Morning sun presents different lighting situations that may not be as comfortable for some couples. If you love the morning light, just be prepared to be looking into the sun in order to have the mountains behind you! This may require you to close your eyes and give them a break now and then.
Luckily, our second location of Mormon Row had dry ground and no snow. This gave us much more freedom when it came to poses. The couple also chose to change outfits to a more dressy outfit. Her dress and his shirt were very complimentary to each other and the landscape. They both ditched the hiking boots for western boots, which was perfectly fitting for the rustic style of Mormon Row. It was hard to choose just a few favorites to share from their session full of snuggles, twirling, dips and kisses. I loved the mix of posed classic poses and romantic and candid photos from their session.
