I love spring and early summer for it’s vibrant Jackson Hole Photography. The vibrant grasses, warm sunshine, and perfect evenings under the mountains make June one of my favorite months for weddings and photo sessions in the Tetons. Back in May of 2022, I was lucky enough to photograph Lauren & Garrett‘s proposal and engagement session. They are high school sweethearts and just got married in their home state. I loved having them in front of my camera again in June of 2024, as newlyweds this time!
They booked a longer couples session so we would have plenty of time to do two locations. The locations they chose were Mormon Row and Schwabacher Landing. We started at the barns and fields that make up the historic Mormon Row. We walked the fields, tried new various angles on the barn and places to pose with different views. We even snuck a few photos with the blooming lupine under the boughs of the large trees.
When we drove from Mormon Row to Schwabacher Landing, we made a last minute decision to stop at the top of the entrance. There is a little parking pad big enough for a car or two and then you can walk up a short but steep hill. The way the sunlight was hitting the mountains during this golden hour made their portraits romantic and feel like I was watching a movie reel. After the sun peeked down a little more, we headed to the streams of Schwabacher Landing to catch the last rays of light.
These two were playful and fun during their session, and had so much chemistry with the camera. It’s always a joy to photograph people who are not camera shy!
