Summer engagement sessions in Jackson Hole are hard to beat. And this couple brought all the energy to fulfill my favorite Couple Poses Ideas for Teton Engagement Photos.
Abby and Renn’s engagement story began earlier on Rendezvous Mountain. He proposed during their trip near up on Rendezvous Mountain. To honor that moment, they bought souvenir shirts with the Corbett’s “Top of the World Waffles” logo. It was a fun and personal touch that tied their story together. The couple was traveling with her parents, and her mom was integral to planning the engagement session!
We started photos at Mormon Row North. It’s a classic location that always works in summer and in the fall. The barns, the Tetons, and the open space set the tone and gave this couple so much freedom to be themselves. He wore a plaid button-up and jeans. She wore a white shirt, black cardigan, and jeans. Outfits that are comfortable and flattering make a huge difference in how you feel during your session.
We finished at Schwabacher Landing for a second location. The grasses were lush and green. The trees were full. The scenery felt calm and fresh. She changed into a black printed skirt and black top. He wore a sage green button-up. The colors fit the landscape perfectly. This session felt light and fun the whole way through. They trusted the process and enjoyed being together. That always shows in the final images.
From the start, they were playful, laughing easily, and completely at ease together, which made photographing them a breeze. When I was looking through their session to edit, I kept thinking – these two are literally giving me great examples for all of the couple poses ideas list I keep on my phone. And yes, I do keep a “cheat sheet” of couple poses ideas because we all have moments where we need to think through the next step! Some of my favorite poses and prompts from their session were:
Snuggle together in a “V” shape and look at the camera (always a classic pose)

Pick her up around the waist and twirl her gently (hello romance)

Give her a piggy back ride (brings the fun)

Sit together with her back to his chest and snuggle (ahh cuties)

Put your arms around each others waist and look towards the mountains (whimsy)

Have her sit on the corral fencing while he stands (some western flair)

Stand together chest to back and bring his arm to her chin for a kiss (bringing the heat!)

Hold hands and walk together (perfect for serious or playful moments)

Stand together back to chest and have her hold his elbow and lean into his shoulder (another of my favorite timeless poses!)

Sit on his knee on a log and kiss or rub noses (the immediate “awww” factor)

Dip and kiss her (An absolutely must have for any mountain engagement session!)

Excited “Just Engaged” face! (because that’s what it’s really all about!)

If you’re ready to plan a relaxed, meaningful engagement session in Jackson Hole, I’d love to help you tell your story. Reach out here to start planning your own summer engagement photos in the Tetons.
