The blog is a collection of destination wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
Daryn and Blaine had already tied the knot legally before arriving in the Tetons, but they wanted to celebrate their marriage with stunning photos in one of the most beautiful places on earth. As their Tetons elopement photographer, I had the joy of documenting their intimate June celebration. And they brought along Blaine’s adorable daughter to share in the magic.
We started our session at Jenny Lake, where the water was running high from snowmelt. Near the stone staircase at the end of the path, we captured dance twirls, sweet moments between dad and daughter, and tender photos of Daryn with her new stepdaughter. Blaine wore jeans and a button-up while Daryn looked radiant in a beautiful white dress with a short train. His daughter also wore a dress for the occasion.
Daryn’s beautiful bridal look was completed with hair and makeup by Olga with Highland Beauty and Daniela with Signature by Daniela, and she carried gorgeous blooms from The Rose Shop.
Next, we headed to Cathedral Group Turnout for romantic couple photos against the dramatic mountain backdrop. In a delightful surprise, Blaine’s daughter brought her favorite stuffed animals dressed as a bride and groom, so we did a charming mini photoshoot with them too. This was a great way to make sure she felt included, but also had something to do while the photos were being taken. Since she didn’t need to be in all of them, she could play with her toys nearby!
Our final stop was Blacktail Butte Turnout, where yellow flowers were in full bloom. The fading light streamed through the mountain peaks, creating an absolutely stunning golden hour glow.
If you’re planning an elopement without guests, keeping things simple makes the day more enjoyable. As a Tetons elopement photographer, I recommend picking just two locations you truly love and focusing your energy there. This allows more time for genuine moments rather than rushing between spots.
Consider getting legally married beforehand like Daryn and Blaine did. Wyoming requires two wedding witnesses and an officiant, so handling the paperwork in advance means you can focus entirely on celebrating and capturing beautiful photos during your Tetons session.
