This proposal has been months in the making. Jacob contacted me all the way back in August to plan his winter proposal and get on the calendar. We locked in a date but waited on some of the other details until it got closer. They traveled to Jackson Hole on vacation right before Christmas! Because they were visiting in the winter time, I wanted some extra time to scope out locations and ideas. Jackson Hole is beautiful with all that snow, but it’s much different than summer!
Despite spending extra time researching ideas, we ended up having to change plans the day before the proposal was planned. Because of ever evolving Covid-19 restrictions, all of the upward mountain traffic on ski lifts and trams were for skiers only. So the evening before the proposal, my family drove around checking out a few places and sending location ideas to Jacob! He chose Wedding Tree for the proposal!
I intended to arrive before Jacob and Shelby did, but they arrived at the site early too! We ended up walking through the drifted snow at Wedding Tree together and I pretended to be only interested in taking photos of my husband and kid. I like being at a proposal location with companions so that it hopefully looks less suspicious and ruin the surprise. I don’t know if it worked in this situation, but it was still a blast!
Wedding Tree in the winter is almost more beautiful than the summer time! I am so glad that Jacob choose this location out of the ideas I sent him. And I’m so glad that Shelby said yes! This winter proposal was just as perfect as it could be for the two of them. And, I’ll be sharing their engagements next on the blog!
