The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
This rainy elopement at Schwabacher’s Landing is fall perfection! The whole morning leading up the wedding, it just poured and poured. After checking in with the couple, we decided to have the ceremony outdoors and hope for the best! Rain often brings out the most vibrant colors. Sadly, the mountains were not fully visible for their photos due to low hanging clouds. But the vivid fall colors made up for the gray skies!
It is said that rain is good luck on your wedding day. One of the sayings “tie the knot” is directly related to this blessing of luck! When a knot gets wet, it’s incredibly difficult to untie. Thus, tying the knot on a rainy day is said to mean that your marriage will not be easily undone. It’s just the beginning of a forever long, happily ever after.
Schwabacher’s Landing has multiple areas that are ideal for ceremonies including this landing. It is nestled between trees and the river. It can sometimes have more traffic, but we had it all to ourselves on this rainy day! Eric’s mother and aunt were the only guests and acted as witnesses. They came prepared with an umbrella! Mr. Tom Jordan performed a very heartfelt religious wedding ceremony for Helen and Eric. One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was he prayed and blessed the couple’s marriage. Then, they exchanged rings out of the coolest ring box I’ve ever seen. Eric had this ring box made custom to silhouette the Tetons.
After the wedding ceremony, the couple and their guests headed to their rental house. They rented a cabin in Spring Creek with a magnificent back porch view. They all sat down for an elegant dinner served by Chef Jarrett Schwartz. The bride and groom had forgotten to pick up the cake before the ceremony, so we went and grabbed it while they got started on dinner. Their petite two tier cake was baked and decorated by Jackson Cake Co! It was decorated with the prettiest florals and greenery and a cake topper with their Mr. & Mrs.
