Last year my husband’s immediate family had a small little get together out in the mountains. It was the perfect opportunity to take updated family photos of Jason and Elise’s family. They welcomed a new little baby into their family a few months prior! So one evening, we headed out just to this little canyon just a few minutes from the rental house. It was so beautiful and so hard to choose where to stop and take photos!
We finally decided on a location, got out, and realized that mosquitoes were everywhere. And, we had left the bug spray at the house. I called my husband, told him to grab the spray and come save us. I’m so glad he did because we took some pretty magical photos that night! I don’t post very many family sessions (read: any), but I wanted to share their couple portraits and decided to throw a few family ones from their session in too!
This family is the perfect outfit inspiration for summer and fall. These color combinations are perfect, as well as the variety in styles and textures! Mom’s dress is a high-lo, which instantly adds interest to the photo, especially with those loose ruffles. Then, her dress color ties into both the little boy’s pants, and the little girls bow. Then dad’s outfit is denim on denim, done in a sleek way, with dark and grey color washes. A pop of color in the green pants and the detailing on her sleeves and front of the shirt set their little girl apart!
