Last February, I photographed some beautiful winter bridals for Mattie and Hunter in Grand Teton National Park. They wed in a much warmer southern state, and honeymooned in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Jackson Hole is such a cozy winter town, perfect for a secluded getaway for couples! There are so many winter activities available for skiiers and non-skiiers alike. A few weeks ago, Mattie decided to surprise Hunter with an anniversary trip to celebrate their first anniversary. Of course, we had to use this opportunity for more photos! Teton Canyon was the perfect winter wonderland.
The week prior to their photoshoot, my husband and I went snowshoeing in Teton Canyon. It’s on the east side of the Teton Pass so about one hour from Jackson Hole. I instantly fell in love with the forest. Such beauty in the snow laden limbs of the trees, the winding stream, and the snow eaves creating little bridges over the water. I knew I wanted to bring people back here for a photoshoot if I had the opportunity. Mattie and Hunter were interested so we settled on this as our location!
The morning of our photoshoot, we met up at the trailhead and took the path into the woods. After a point in time it got harder to walk as the snow piled deeper, but we stayed by the creek and got some of the most scenic and beautiful couple portraits. The forest was so still and quiet and we were some of the only people exploring the area. These two make taking their photos so effortless. They have an incredible natural chemistry, and Hunter is willing to go along with all the ideas we came up with. Even after a grueling walk through the snow back to the cars, they did a quick snowball fight. This session was one of my favorite winter photo shoots of all time!
