Melissa was our bridal model for this photo shoot in Island Park. When I was planning the photography retreat in Island Park, I wanted to make sure we had a variety of models in age and looks. I just knew I needed a stunning red-head, and Melissa was such a fun and easy person to work with. He red hair is just gorgeous on her and made her eyes pop! Hair design was by Laurel Mae Coburn. Laurel created a stunning bridal look with intricate braids and curls.  The bridal  look was finished with makeup by  Jaime Shippen.

$50 Thrifted Wedding Dress

Here is one for all the ‘thrifters out’ there! The dress for her shoot I actually found at the Rigby Dress Shop for $50! I saw this dress at a bridal show and bought it the next day. I even wore it for my own family photos at the LaBelle Lake Ice Palace in February of 2020. When the dress shop was open, they sold new and used wedding dresses. Everything in their store was under $200. And every few months, they would have $10 racks. Yes! $10 for wedding dresses! What a thrifter’s delight! I bought over 10 thrifted wedding dresses at various times to use just for the purpose of styled shoots. I love how whimsical it was while having some pieces of elegance. And I love the flowy skirt and sleeves.

Sucker for a love story

I’m kind of a sucker for a medieval love story and so I wanted to put a modern twist on one. Maybe it’s just because I love historical romance, but I felt like this hair, dress, and wrap could all belong on the cover of a novel. The gorgeous fur wrap and veil was rented from Glass Slipper Dresses in Rexburg, Idaho.  We also rented the dress for this Romantic Woodland Island Park Elopement from Glass Slipper Dresses. The bouquet was created by Fancy with Floral. Our time with Melissa was short, but these fall photos are sure to inspire!
