I just love working with Emily and Dustin! Emily hired me in the fall and winter of 2019 to document their family photos. I wanted to share just a couple of their couple photos in Bear Lake! I’ve been really surprised at how many winter sessions I’ve done over the last few years.  I personally try to avoid them with young kids because they get cold so quickly. But, Emily’s dad has a house in Bear Lake and their whole family gets together one weekend in December to celebrate Christmas. So this was the time that we could do photos!

Frozen Bear Lake in the Winter

The lake was mostly (or completely) frozen over in the background and had a layer of snow over it. The mountains get a very blue look in the winter time which I love! Luckily we had some overcast weather, which allowed us to have more freedom over where on the property we took photos. Everyone in their group did a moodier color palette, and I absolutely adored Emily’s pop of gold boots. If she ever gets rid of them, I want to have them!

Keeping up on Instagram

Something that I think is awesome about Emily is that she unapologetically lives her life. I love keeping up with her on Instagram. It’s fun to watch all of her home makeovers, piano playing, winter nature walks and fashion choices! I actually saw Dustin in Grand Teton National Park when he was there to photograph the mountains with Jupiter beaming brightly. It was such a fun surprise to see him over the summertime!

It’s been over a year since I’ve gotten to see these guys (thanks Covid). But I’m hoping that we get together soon. They are so photogenic and taking pictures of them is a breeze!
