The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
There are a lot of ways to gather inspiration for your wedding. But where should you start? Today I’m covering some of the best places to find wedding inspiration online.
I’m so glad that Pinterest has become an option and is so widely used by brides planning their event. Pinterest is a great place to start finding out what kind of style you like for photography, decorations, and your event vibes.
It’s is super easy to use and allows you create boards for any kind of inspiration. I find it best to split up the event details on multiple boards. I highly recommend creating different boards for Colors and Bridesmaid styles, decoration options, venue styles, poses and photography style, bridal hair and makeup beauty, and wedding dresses. My favorite board is my “Wedding Day Feels”!
Instagram accounts and location specific blog sites are great resources for receiving inspiration about your wedding day. Wedding Inspiration Instagram accounts curate content from all different styles of wedding photographers and wedding vendors and they share them on their account. This is also a great way to discover your photographer and the style that you’re drawn to. Because they feature so many real weddings and styled shoots, you really get a feel for what is possible. Whether you are planning an intimate wedding or a grand party, there’s tons of inspiration to be had! Some of my favorite broad “all things wedding” accounts to follow are: Rocky Mountain Bride and WeddingWire/TheKnot.
Once you’ve chosen your wedding venue, you can receive location specific inspiration! Read their blog and view their galleries for inspiration. This is incredibly applicable because you can see the options that are available in the very space your event will be held.
Using hashtag searches on Instagram, or location specific searches in Google, follow local photographers. Pore over their portfolios and make note of what you love about their photos. When looking through poses and ideas about 70% of the poses and style that you like should be evident in your photographer’s portfolio. You’ll want to make sure the photographer you choose photographs in a style you are drawn to. Because we work with a variety of clients with different ideas for their dream weddings, photography websites are a great place for wedding inspiration! Wedding Photographer’s Blogs are filled with a sampling of real weddings and styled shoots. As a photographer, I feature each couple’s unique story and aspects of their wedding day. On our blog you’ll find inspiration for venues, dresses, color boards, decorations, food, poses, locations, and so much more!
Check out other local wedding vendor social media pages and websites. Following your potential wedding vendors will give you a great feel for the types of events they are experts in participating in! Makeup artists and hair stylists will post before and afters, as well as final looks complete in wedding attire. Decorators and florists can give you a great place to start for color schemes and event vibes.
