The blog is a collection of wedding and elopement highlights sharing your beautiful stories. It also includes wedding planning tips and inspiration.
These two lovebirds are newly engaged! Charisse and Raquel have been together for just about a year and a half. Raquel popped the question not too long ago! They had different plans for how the proposal was going to happen but in the end, they got engaged in a place that was special and safe to them. I’m so thrilled to share these beautiful lesbian engagements photos with you all!
The outfits that Charisse and Raquel wore for their engagement session were so classic and timeless. Their engagement outfits were absolutely perfect for the beach. It looked like it could have easily been elopement attire too! Charisse wore a beautiful, fitted, white dress that was simple and classic with its lines. Raquel wore a stunning ensemble of black shirt and suspenders with white pants. I honestly loved their choice of outfit and how well it complemented the location that we were using for their photos. I also feel like it complemented them and their personalities perfectly!
We lost light pretty quickly during their photoshoot, so things got a little bit grainy towards the end. But, they had brought a bottle of champagne that they wanted to get some pictures with. I wanted to make sure that happened for them! This just needs to be a thing at all engagement shoots and weddings from here on out! You don’t always get the big pop that you want from the champagne bottle, but there is a trick! I just have couples shake it up afterwards and let it go, and it works wonders! There was a small breeze on the island that night so as they were spraying champagne it was getting all over!
In Idaho, I don’t have a lot of opportunity to work with LBGTQ+ couples. So, I worried a little bit about how to pose same-sex couples. As a photographer, I wanted to pose them in a way that complimented them both. I didn’t want to make either one of them feel like they were always stuck in a “framing position” or in a role that they didn’t want to have in photos. These two ladies were so easy to photograph. I just treated them like any other couple that I work with and it was perfect! I do think that women tend to have more self-awareness and are easier to pose than men in general, so I did think that that worked in our favor for this session!
It’s always so fun to see which photos are the couple’s favorite and I like to highlight those photos as much as possible. Sometimes our favorites differ, but I think it’s really important to share the photos that they feel represent them and their relationship the best. So, enjoy these beautiful Sanibel Island lesbian engagements!
