Throughout the summer, Jackson Hole hiking lakes are a top activity on our summer bucket list. Between the incredible views, and gorgeous waters, Jackson Hole is full of adventure and summer fun. From hikes and camping, to fishing in babbling brooks, you will have the best of times this summer in Jackson Hole. Take the kids for a day in the park enjoying the incredible views, and countless hikes, and end the day with a picnic by the water and an afternoon swim!
Get close and personal to the Tetons at Jenny Lake, being one of my favorite Jackson Hole hiking lakes, I am always thrilled to shoot here! Jenny Lake is right up against the Grand Tetons and has the most spectacular view of the mountains. In fact, Jenny Lake is visible for the majority of the hike, making the hike enjoyable throughout. The hike is wooded and has some open areas that walk right along the lake, which makes the loop breathtaking!
In addition to having some amazing views, there are also a few really cool features to this lake. As you hike up you will arrive at Inspiration Point, which looks over the entire lake in all of its beauty. But the adventure doesn’t end there. There are also some hidden falls to search for while on your hike and you can even take a boat across the lake. You will have a blast hiking at Jenny Lake and exploring all of its wonders.
Taggart Lake is a smaller lake just west of the Tetons, but, it’s still another incredibly beautiful spot for an afternoon hike. This Jackson Hole hiking lake is so magical with tall aspens and a flowing stream right next to the hiking trail. It’s perfect for a picnic with your family and friends. You can make this trail into a loop, or just go in and back, which makes is super easy for families! This is one of our family’s personal favorites.
Right next to Taggart Lake is Bradley Lake. The two lakes are connected by the trails, so be sure to visit both when you are hiking the area. Bradley Lake has a sense of magic to it, as you can see through the water to all the beautiful stones at the bottom of the lake. I absolutely love this trail!
Take it easy on this Jackson Hole hiking lake. Phelps Lake‘s hike is so comfortable, and another great option for a light hike with friends and family. Enjoy the wooded hiking area which falls under the shade of tall Wyoming trees. The overwhelming sense of tranquility and peace found here is incredible, and a great way to spend your weekend relaxing the day away. Be sure to pack bear spray on this and other Jackson Hole hikes!
Once you reach the lake take some time to really enjoy the water! The water is so beautiful and clear, its hard not to want to just jump in and cool down. My favorite part of Phelps Lake is the big rock that towers over the water. You can climb up, and jump off into the lake!
This location is like a three in one! String Lake connects to Leigh Lake and Jenny Lake, which makes the hiking trail full of options! You can either make the hike into a quick in and out, or make an entire day out of it. The adventure is totally endless on this hike!
The best part of String Lake is how family friendly it is. This Jackson Hole hiking lake has shady trails with awesome wooded walkways. When you get to the water, you will find the perfect place to kayak and play with your family. It is always a great time at String Lake!
Jackson Hole hiking lakes are an adventurous and memorable way to spend summer days with family and friends. Cool off in the water and enjoy the breathtaking views. Whether you take your family for an afternoon picnic, or are proposing to the love of your life, Jackson Hole is the perfect spot for you. Let’s connect and chat about how you can make the most of your Jackson Hole adventure.
