Photographing Audrey and Josh was so fun and easy. They moved into poses without me even really having to coax them very much. We started their extended session with Cathedral Group Engagement Pictures!
The first location that we went to for their engagement session in the Tetons was Cathedral Group View Point. This is one of my favorite locations. It’s especially good for sessions that need to happen a little bit earlier in the day, before golden hour. The mountains still show up really well even if it’s smoky as well. It’s a good location for smoky days where the weather might not be the most ideal. I love Cathedral Group Engagement Pictures because they have such a great view of the mountains!
These two met while working together 4 years ago in Southern Utah where they were both going to school and working at a call center. Their friendship blossomed quickly into romance and they got engaged this year while on a trip to Hawaii. They had traveled with friends and so he arranged for their friends to help set up a flower petal area out on the sand. Because of some circumstances during the day, they quickly ran out of light but he was still able to propose in a beautiful and meaningful way.
Audrey and Josh planned a last minute trip to Jackson Hole for the weekend. Luckily, I was able to accommodate their schedule and photograph these beautiful humans! After the first part of their engagement session at Cathedral Group, we headed out to Schwabacher’s Landing, where the couple changed outfits and we finished out pictures. I love it when couples choose to book a longer photo shoot so they’re not rushed during their engagement sessions. This allows us to get all of the poses and outfits they want.
Okay! Let’s talk accessories and hats during an engagement session! I love when couples bring accessories like this along because it allows us to change up their outfit really easily and quickly. This is the same reason I love when couples have layers, like Audrey’s Jean jacket. Hats can make it difficult to get those super close romantic photos where a couple of kissing or they’re squishing their faces together. But, we just do those poses before we put the hat on, or after we take the hat back off, so it’s not even a big deal!
Something that we noticed while taking their engagement photos in the Tetons was that sometimes layers can work against us. During one of our poses Audrey’s jean jacket covered Josh’s face a little bit more than we wanted. The great thing about layers though, is that they are easy to put on or take off. An easy outfit change gives my couples more variety!
