This romantic Fall Elopement at Wedding Tree was one of my last Jackson Hole weddings of the year. On an absolutely beautiful day, Mikel and Stephanie shared vows under the boughs of the famous Wedding Tree. They chose to have their legal ceremony done in town, prior to our session time together. But included their daughter in their wedding vows and portraits.

Elopement at Wedding Tree

Wedding Tree is a little secluded nook in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. It has become a popular location for intimate weddings and elopements because it doesn’t require a ceremony permit. It’s also just a bit off the beaten path, so it is nearly always deserted. There have been very few events where we’ve run into other people on the trail. Each elopement at Wedding Tree is unique, and this is one was so romantic. It was low-key, and easy going, which is just the way an elopement should be! Fall in the national parks and national forests is always spectacular with loads of color.

For couples wanting a more secluded location for their ceremony, I recommend an elopement at Wedding Tree. Even though the tree has lost parts of it over the years, the story behind the name remains. Two trees boughs came together to form something that looked like a heart. So it got the name “The Wedding Tree”.  Jackson Hole has so many great wedding locations for the adventurous at heart, and those looking for an intimate wedding ceremony.

Grand Teton Portraits

After their intimate wedding ceremony, we headed to GTNP for some additional portraits. They popped champagne at Mormon Row and toasted to their marriage. We took family and couple portraits at Schwabacher’s Landing as the sun started setting behind the mountains. These are some of my favorite places in the Tetons for portraits because of the easily recognizable views.
