Winter in East Idaho is so beautiful when it’s done right! These two married in Utah, but had a barn reception at the groom’s family property in Tetonia. They wanted formal couple portraits in the snow and the hilly mountains showing off. The Tetons were blocked by the clouds, but these winter Tetonia bridals turned out so bright and beautiful.
Every couple has a vision of what they’d like to have from their wedding photos. But I love it when a couple is willing to give me free reign over making that vision happen. Taylynn and Brigham loved how bright and clean my editing style is, which worked so well with these bright whites too.
Brigham’s family has a beautiful property in River Rim Ranch out by the Teton mountains. While we didn’t get the view we hoped for on this winter day, we took advantage of the incredible aspects of the area anyways. We photographed their winter Tetonia bridals out around their home and barn, and then moved inside to warm up too! If you look closely at her wedding dress, the entire lace panel of the train is unlined. I haven’t seen that design before and I loved it!
The bride and groom’s families transformed the upstairs of their functional barn into the perfect gathering space. These intimate spaces are perfect for open house style celebrations or small dinners. The color scheme on the tables was perfect for a winter getting ready to transition to spring. The pastel blues, bright greens and colorful purples, yellows, and pinks complimented the dark wood barn interior. At the end of the night, they opened up the dance floor for some country dancing!
Becky’s Catering Kitchen made the most delicious finger food for the reception. Have you ever had bacon wrapped water chestnuts in BBQ sauce? I hadn’t either but man are the at the top of my list now for appetizer foods! Cheesecake bites, peanut butter brownies, fruit and cheese kabobs, and even more yummy foods were served at the reception and were a total hit. It’s also my favorite thing when there is food leftover that the vendors get to take home with them (super yum!). And if you’re looking for a unique way to serve drinks, consider a soda bar!
While the majority of my work takes place in Jackson Hole and the other side of the Tetons, I live in Idaho and love getting to photograph local weddings! If you’re planning a wedding in Idaho or Jackson Hole, send me a message about documenting your special day.
